Planning, manufacturing and installation of monuments in the fortress was carried out based on the personalities of famous people who were somehow connected with the history of the Bendery fortress or Transnistria. The most significant place where a number of such monuments (busts) are installed is the Pantheon of Russian Glory, located under the southern wall of the citadel.
The very first bust was erected on October 12, 2009 to Field Marshal M.I. Kutuzov, who, being a young captain, as a volunteer, took part in the assault on the Bendery fortress in 1770. Subsequently, in 1789, in the army of Potemkin, Kutuzov, already a major general, also took part in the siege and conquest of the Bendery fortress, and it was he who was instructed to blow up the bastions and other fortifications of the fortress, but, fortunately, due to the lack of allocated funds, he didn't.
On December 25 of the same year, busts were erected to Matthias Miller, who died during the assault on the fortress in 1770, the commander of the central attacking column, and Nikolai Raevsky, a participant in the conquest of the fortress in 1789.
Subsequently, this activity continued.
