250 years have passed since the successful assault on the fortress of Bendery by the 2nd Russian army under the leadership of Count Pyotr Ivanovich Panin. The fall of the hitherto impregnable outpost of Ottoman rule marked the beginning of a new era in the history of our region - Russia opened the way to the Balkans and gave the Orthodox peoples hope for liberation. This publication presents historical maps of the siege and assault on the Bendery fortress. Most of the maps are published for the first time. The Atlas is based on a selection from the collection of cartographic documents of the military registration archive, located in the fund of the Russian State Military Historical Archive.
The atlas is designed for historians, students, and anyone interested in national history.
